Drag queens to make historical debut — during Super Bowl LIV

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ alumni Kim Chi and Miz Cracker will appear in an ad for Sabra hummus during Feb. 2’s championship football game.

NBC NEWS — First, it was an unexpected appearance at President Donald Trump’s impeachment hearings, and now it’s a barrier-breaking debut during one of the year’s most watched sporting events.

Drag queens, for the first time, will appear in a Super Bowl advertisement. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alumni Kim Chi and Miz Cracker will make history in a commercial for hummus brand Sabra during the football championship game Feb. 2, when the Kansas City Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers.

In the teaser for the ad campaign, which the New York-based company posted on its YouTube channel last week, Miz Cracker clumsily attempts to put a football helmet on over her sizable wig. […]

Katie Sowers to make twin Super Bowl history as first openly gay and female coach

Sowers, who was once rejected from a volunteer coaching position because of her “lifestyle,” will be the first lesbian to coach at the Super Bowl.

NBC NEWS — Once rejected from a volunteer coaching position because of her “lifestyle,” Katie Sowers will make NFL history as the first openly gay and female assistant coach headed to the Super Bowl.

Sowers is an offensive assistant coach with the San Francisco 49ers, whose win against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday secured the team’s spot in the championship game Feb. 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The 49ers will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs.

She is the second woman to coach in the National Football League and began her athletic career playing in the Women’s Football Alliance for the West Michigan Mayhem and the Kansas City Titans. After retiring in 2016 because of a hip injury, Sowers joined the NFL as an intern for the Atlanta Falcons, and took the assistant coach position with the 49ers the next year.

Sowers became the first out gay coach in the NFL when she came out before the 2017 season. […]

  1. Hmmmm….did the NFL rig the game for the Niners against the Packers so that some LBGTQ “coach” be on a staff in a Super Bowl? Everyone knows NFL commissioner Goodell is as politically correct as they come (as well as a shabbos goy for Robert “Mr GMO-Chabad Lubavitcher” Kraft)…next thing you know, next year’s Super Bowl will feature the only NFL team with a black head coach AND a black GM…the “tanking” Dolphins!

    • How do you propose the NFL rigged it so that Raheem Mostert would have wide open holes all game long to run through for a record breaking game in the NFC title? I haven’t seen any outcry from Packers fans about uncalled holding penalties or really any uncalled penalties for that matter. In fact, the 49ers dominated the Packers in nearly every aspect of the game, so what are you on about? You don’t think the NFL would have been just as happy with its most historic franchise (other than mayyybe da Bears, who stink) and its all time great QB in the SB?

I am not saying sports leagues execs don’t have desired outcomes in mind that they want to see happen, but this idea that all pro sports are fully rigged with outcomes already set in stone is nonsense.

  2. I used to like Sabra Hummus, and watch the super bowl. Never again. I know who the antichrist is, it is President Xi Jinping, who is destroying all religions in China, which will be the new world super power. He is replacing all religions with worship of himself, President Xi Jinping. He is the one who will build a giant statue of himself made of Gold, and will destroy China and all life on earth. All that will be left is the statue.
