COVID vaccination site closes early after adverse reactions to Johnson & Johnson shot

By Kenneth Garger | 7 April 2021

NEW YORK POST — Thirteen people at a COVID-19 vaccination site in Colorado had adverse reactions to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on Wednesday — shutting down operations for the day, a report said.

Officials did not disclose the types of reactions suffered by less than 1 percent of the more than 1,700 people given shots at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, the Denver Gazette reported.

The vaccination effort was being sponsored by the state and Centura Health. More than 600 people with appointments Wednesday were unable to receive their vaccinations after the early closure.

“We followed our protocols and in an abundance of caution, made the decision — in partnership with the state — to pause operations for the remainder of the day,” Centura Health officials said in the statement obtained by the newspaper.

People with appointments who were turned away will be rescheduled to receive their shots at a different site on Sunday.

  1. “… in an abundance of caution, made the decision … to pause operations for the remainder of the day.”

    I see.

People with appointments who were turned away will be rescheduled to receive their shots at a different site on Sunday.

Maybe it’s just me, but stopping for the day at one site while continuing to vaccinate numerous people at others does not really seem to be an “abundance of caution” when talking about adverse reactions to the vaccine.

    • Something to ponder:

linkWho benefits the most from the J&J vaccine being pulled? Moderna and Pfizer. They want your only options to be mRNA jabs. Same reason the AstraZeneca one has come under fire, too. If you got the J&J, it probably won’t even count for your vaccine passport.

Per the CDC (link), the J&J vaccine is a ‘viral vector’ vaccine: First, the vector (not the virus that causes COVID-19, but a different, harmless virus) will enter a cell in our body and then use the cell’s machinery to produce a harmless piece of the virus that causes COVID-19. This piece is known as a spike protein and it is only found on the surface of the virus that causes COVID-19. Next, the cell displays the spike protein on its surface, and our immune system recognizes it doesn’t belong there. This triggers our immune system to begin producing antibodies and activating other immune cells to fight off what it thinks is an infection

  2. They’ve halted the J&J shot here in Salt Lake City as well. Of course, the malodorous and reckless local news tells these local bootlickers and yes men that the blood-clots are ‘rare’ and that it is just a temporary ‘pause’ in vaccine delivery.

“Mr. Smith, little Suzie was paused temporarily from school today!” Lol! The lexical games are as old as the hills themselves!
