Exxon Mobil has shut down one of the largest diesel refineries (Joliet) in the Midwest, which produces ~11 million gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel per day, due to outage issues. The facility has now been off line for four days. Causa proxima of this is the short term expediency of running refineries and supporting power inputs all out with minimal maintenance.

Damage to Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline is worse than first reported, with three pumping stations hit. Repairs could take 5-6 weeks, threatening a route that had been moving 4-5M bpd around Hormuz. Once repaired they can be wrecked again.
Insider leaking going on. The Ansrallah Houthi precise strikes on the three Saudi Aramco Pumping Stations (PS) was more likely than NOT facilitated with someone that had insider knowledge or working for Saudi Aramco that sold information to the Houthis.
This multiplied by the sanctions of Russian diesel exports and war damage. It’s a perfect trifecta. The Russian facility strikes have an impact on US diesel prices. This has removed hundreds of thousands of bpd of diesel from global markets. It now appears that the US will ban exports of diesel.
