MIRROR — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife Sara has been charged with fraud over alleged misuse of state funds.

The charges include the alleged misuse of around $100,000 in official funds for catering services at the prime minister’s residence in Jerusalem.

Pressure has been piling on the 68-year-old leader, whose right-wing politics have dominated Israel for years.

He has been indicted as part of two separate bribery investigations, one of which is connected to giving gifts in exchange for favourable media coverage.

Netanyahu, who headed the communications portfolio until last year, has vehemently denied allegations of corruption. […]
