THE DAILY WIRE — Ia new revelation from the John Podesta emails released by WikiLeaks, ex-Bill Clinton aide Doug Band alleged Chelsea Clinton’s husband, Marc Mezvinsky, might have used his connections to the Clinton Foundation to raise money for his hedge fund.
As Politico reports, in a Jan. 2012 email to Podesta, Mills and current Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Band alleged that Mezvinsky, who At the time Band wrote them, Mezvinsky was working with two partners to raise capital to launch hedge fund Eaglevale Partners, invited “several potential investors” for his hedge fund “and a few current business ones” to a foundation poker night fundraiser. Band wrote, “I assume all are contributing to the foundation, which of course isn’t the point. The entire plan of his has been to use this for his business.” Band also wrote, Mezvinsky “has CVC making some calls for him to get mtgs with some clinton people.” CVC is a reference to Chelsea Clinton.
Band added of Mezvinsky, “His raising money for his own fund hasn’t been going well.” Politico reports that Chelsea Clinton and Band were at odds at the time of the email because Chelsea Clinton had accused Band of using his foundation role to aid his money-making ventures, precisely the attack Band leveled at Mezvinsky.
