Apparently not all refineries in T and L are “above” salt caverns, so if they caverns collapse not all refineries would collapse with them. At least the US is looking at higher gas prices no matter what, at best if the system keeps grinding on best case scenario the US has several months total supply, but that does not take into consideration other contingencies (whatever those might be). However, if the Iran war is a FOREVER WAR that would eventually cause steady deterioration. I read a long article yesterday at ZH about how the global system will not collapse all of a sudden but “the math doesn’t lie” and while the thesis was the old “carrying capacity” one that was used as a scare tactic for white people to stop having babies, that also does not mean that human consumption of natural resources is infinite either.
