Massive Explosion in Populated Area of Israel

Beit Shemesh is a District of Israel, 19 miles west of Jerusalem. Estimated population 160,000. Seems unlikely something was tested in this locale. Likely sabotage or an accident. Huge amounts of ordinance on hand in a small land area.

My general theory confirmed. “Controlled explosion” explanation is nonsensical.

The current speculation: a sodium perchlorate storage area used in producing surface-to-air missile rocket motors caught fire and exploded due to mishandling. The blast may have destroyed interceptors for one of the IDF’s two Arrow-3 batteries.
