Home improvement retailer Home Depot slashed its full-year earnings outlook after another weak quarter, citing soft big-ticket spending, a paralyzed housing market, and lackluster seasonal demand. Adjusted EPS is now expected to fall 5%, worse than prior guidance.
Third-quarter comparable sales rose just .2%, far below Bloomberg Consensus estimates of 1.36%. The retailer warned about weak consumer demand as elevated interest rates discourage home buying and remodeling. As a result, consumers are opting for smaller projects rather than upgrading their patios or building new decks.
no one has extra money to renovate???????????????
Goul Paul Volcker’s demon spirit is cheering from his grave–the US living standard which he, as FED Chair in 1979, ordered and stated, “the standard of living of the average American has to decline. I don’t think you can escape that” has hit bottom along with epic inequality. In 1972 as Undersecretary of the Treasury, he advised President Nixon to close the “gold window,” which ended the convertibility of U.S. dollars into gold. 2 killer death decisions, he served his Talmudic masters well 45 years later the working class has never been poorer in my 72 year lifetime. Thanks, outstanding website, my number 1 site.
I was absolutely floored at the price of cement the other day. I calculated that to fill one little post hole I needed a minimum of 3 bags (but maybe up to 6 bags), but the prices…..!!! I remember a bag of cement being ~$1.99 and filling a post hole has gone from $8 to now being $24 – $40 depending on bags of concrete. I am NOT starting up the “I remember when…” game on prices because that is not my point.
My point is that basic work has been priced out of people’s budgets. We have reached peak retardation of life in all ways. I can’t easily do farm/homestead work with these prices! Do they seriously think that I am going to take half of my paycheck to fill cement around a few posts?
The #GloBaalists who own Home Depot are supporting #NWO agendas that will nerf the economy by design. Are they pretending to be shocked?!
I was shocked at the price of bagged cement recently. I have 9 holes to fill and I reckoned on 3-6 bags each hole….I was floored that the cheapest freaking bag was like $5.99. I remember when it was like a $1.99 a bag and it used to be the cheap option! I am not starting up the “I remember when…” game on pricing because that is NOT my point!
My point is they have priced people out of doing basic projects. At $40 a hole do they honestly think I am going to spend half of my paycheck on cement around posts!? We have reached peak retardation of life. This is the first time in my lifetime that I ever remember DIY projects being too expensive. It’s a serious Rubicon we have crossed here.
I stopped going to home depot years ago when they “donated” one million dollars to black lives matter. Then Lowe’s went homo/lesbian and man haters. Don’t buy much from either one.
