Trump’s Tariff Actions Looked Designed as Insider Pump and Dumps

The delivery of tariff policy has set up a very volatile stock market that allows insider cronies to front run Trump’s erratic shifts. This creates big holes both down and up.

Big bets emerge in options markets shortly before tariff shifts.

Among the Trump pronouncements is this one:

Trump just said that he will be looking at exempting certain US companies from tariffs. Reporter asks: “How will you determine that” Trump: “Instinctively”.

Next Big tech has now successfully appealed to be exempt from China tariffs.

If somebody is trying to manufacture a laptop in the U.S., the components that they import are going to be tariffed at 145%. But if somebody simply makes the laptop entirely in China, they are fully tariff free? And this is all to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.?

How would you input a feasibility study to build a billion dollar automated factory in this environment? Will come to a screeching halt.

  1. Trump puts tariffs on China
  2. Stock market takes a nose dive
  3. People panic and sell
  4. Trump: “It’s a good time to buy”
  5. Trump’s buddies buy cheap
  6. Trump pauses tariffs
  7. Stock market surges
  8. Cha-ching $$

China has been preparing for this. China’s exports to the U.S. are flat over the past 13 years. China’s exports to the rest of the world are up +80% in that same exact period. China’s $400B of annual imports to the U.S represent ~10% of China’s exports, and less than 2% of its GDP. This isn’t a kill shot.

  1. Pump and dump, clear grounds for impeachment, all the proof is in public domain, the social posts. Open and shut case, all it needs is a democrat House in two years.

  2. Thank you for the article. Waking up this morning reading this to the point article first thing, I was surprised by a weekend announcement, but definitely not shocked. His handlers are getting their monies worth.

(As an aside, you said on many shows that the previous administration horrendous policies put the next president in such a position that people are willing to except polices that were unthinkable earlier. I agree with you a 100%. We would be better off with a monarchy in that at least we know where to go with our pitchforks. I recommend everyone watch the movie titled: The Jones Plantation.)

    • Russ, I initially agreed with Trump’s tariffs, but after reading this article I’m starting to rethink my assessment. This youtuber named Kim Iverson was explaining that if Trump is going to enact these tariffs, he should at least get rid of federal income taxes to balance everything out.

But if he is going to keep the tariffs without getting rid of income taxes it will devastate the middle class and small businesses. And if he is running pump and dump with these tariffs, as he did with that Trump coin right before his inauguration, I absolutely agree that he should be impeached.

  3. Obfuscation, coercion and manipulation are the norm, doesn’t matter who the CEO is. I’m with the comment above, time to bust out the “pitchforks” and invoke the our rights given in the declaration. Fucking tyrants
