National math test scores in fourth and eighth grades showed the biggest drop since a national testing program began in 1990, and the reading level for the same grades reverted to a level from three decades ago.
Eighth-grade math performance has dropped eight points since 2019, and about a third of students in both grades can’t read at the minimum required level, according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) report.
NAEP, also known as the “Nation’s Report Card,” is the only national and continuing assessment program administered by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) of the Department of Education. The Nation’s Report Card is the gold standard for measuring student academic achievements. The results released on Oct. 24 were based on tests administered in the spring.
And not just because of wokeness is today’s public schools…and not just because of “Common Core” (aka Commie Core or Common Crap) either… Math and Reading Scores have been in decline since I started teaching secondary math in the mid-1980s (retired from teaching in mid-90s to home school my kids…another good decision I made).
Disband the entire federal dept of education and make sure anyone who used to work there has a permanent mark on their record, so as never to be hired in education again.
Speaking of school. University of Texas is making it illegal to protest israel by forcing students to take a “test” acknowledging their rules and if they refuse they are expelled.
Perhaps the ban on protesting Jewish genocide and land theft will clue some students into who really runs the “Democratic” West and what kind of people they are.
