President Trump at a presser on Thursday discussed the promising use of an on-the-shelf anti-malarial compound, hydroxychloroquine, for coronavirus. Besides coronavirus, the drug is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Its cheap and relatively safe. More accurately, hydroxychloroquine is combined with zinc and the antibiotic Zithromax, generically known as azithromycin.

It’s important to note this does not prevent infection but rather is a treatment that reduces the dangerous effects of the virus.

There are some side effects, such as serious heart disease and retinal damage, but only among those who do the regimen longer-term, such as those with lupas or arthritis — not a 10-day/short-duration regimen.
It was good news. And yet, almost immediately, we saw strange nit-picking, tit-for-tat, making this development all about Trump. Clearly, The New York Times (aka The NY Slimes) completely lacks journalistic integrity and is endlessly biased on a number of fronts.
The Slimes felt compelled to turn the announcement into a World Wide Wrestling match by essentially labeling it as just some new Trump crackpot idea. It ran a fake news story titled “With Minimal Evidence, Trump Asks F.D.A. to Study Malaria Drugs for Coronavirus.” This politicization about the treatment is seen elsewhere among the usual suspect cognoscenti.
Could it be that successful treatment mitigates the need for The NY Slimes and their posse’s larger-agenda vaccines and expensive drugs?
The Slimes claims the drug went into short supply in the U.S. this month, as word has spread of its potential benefit to coronavirus patients. Then the story goes on to say, as an afterthought, that manufacturers were quickly gearing up pill production.

The NY Slimes goes on to call the treatment a “remedy,” and then claimed in a hyperbolic headline that “Trump’s Embrace of Unproven Drugs to Treat Coronavirus Defies Science.” But is this headline even remotely true?
In China, trials are showing apparent efficacious treatment and safety. The NCBI ran the China developments in their publication.
Chloroquine gets the zinc inside the cell membrane, where it inhabits the virus, and azithromycin blocks protein synthesis needed for virus regeneration.

Now comes a renowned research professor Didier Raoult in France reporting successful results from this new treatment for Covid-19, with early tests suggesting it can stop the virus from being contagious in just six days.
The treatment was offered to 24 patients, who were among the first to become infected in the southeast of France, and who had voluntarily admitted themselves to hospital for the process. Patients were given 600 mcg per day for 10 days.
“We were able to ascertain that patients who had not received Plaquenil [a drug containing hydroxychloroquine] were still contagious after six days, but of those that had received Plaquenil [hydroxychloroquine], after six days, only 25% were still contagious,” he reported.
Six other patients treated with hydroxychloroquine and antibiotic azithromycin were 100% were negative after six days.
A new academic study, published on Friday, March 13 by U.S. scientific researchers also said that chloroquine appeared to be an effective treatment and appears to align with the findings in France.
It said: “Use of chloroquine (tablets) is showing favorable outcomes in humans infected with Coronavirus, including faster time to recovery and shorter hospital stay.”
A Dutch scientist of the University of Groningen created #hydroxychloroquine in aerosol form and it will be available within weeks. It instantly reaches the lungs to directly block the negative effects of #COVID19, even better than HCQ in oral form.
