VOICE OF EUROPE — Sweden’s Moderate Party wants a survey on the costs of immigration as they seem to spiral out of control.
The party, known for its pro-migration ideas, implicitly admits the costs are too high: “We have had a tendency not to talk about immigration costs. However, we wouldn’t let another area increase in costs so dramatically without following up on it,” Moderate Party member, Elisabeth Svantesson, said to Dagens Nyheter.
Sweden’s total immigration costs for 2018 are estimated at 40 billion Swedish crowns (€4 billion). That’s more than double the amount it spends on culture (€1.5 billion) and an amount close to how much the country spends on its military (€5.4 billion). […]
