Grok: Yes, the exposure of the Hanover Institute produced a clear Streisand-like backfire.The operation was designed as a relatively quiet, machine-facing effort: flood the web with question-formatted, AI-optimized reports so chatbots would treat them as credible sources. Instead, FARA filings made the funding trail public, journalists quickly identified the site as a synthetic think tank with no staff or legal existence, and the story spread across outlets including Politico, Responsible Statecraft, 404 Media, and The Guardian.
That coverage itself changed chatbot behavior. After the reports appeared, some models began flagging the Institute’s material as controversial rather than citing it uncritically. The domain was also added to blocklists. An Israeli official’s remark that “we paid a lot of money, but the situation only got worse” tracks with this outcome: the attempt to shape AI answers without drawing human attention instead made the influence campaign itself the story.

Two weeks ago I received a terse email from a domain registrar in China:
This is a formal email.We are a Network Service Company which is the domain name registration center in Shanghai, China.
On August 3, 2026, we received an application from Shenjia Holdings Ltd requested “salanave-runyon ” as their internet keyword and China (CN) domain names( salanave-runyon.cn/ salanave-runyon.com.cn/ salanave-runyon.net.cn/ salanave-runyon.org.cn).
After checking it, we find this name conflict with your company name or trademark. In order to deal with this matter better, we send email to you and confirm whether or not this CN company is affiliated with your company?
I replied that I had not authorized anyone to apply for the Chinese domains that infringed upon my namespace.
I suggested that they escalate the matter to the police, as a case of open-and-shut misrepresentation and possible bribery.
As it so happens, at that time I had just, a few days before, attempted to discuss the technical merits of Oracle’s censorship on Y Combinator’s website, Hacker News.
Hacker News had censored the article from their RSS feed and I had responded by managing to slip the URL to the salanave-runyon.org website into Y Combinator’s feed, using ROT13 to encode it so their keyword filters wouldn’t catch it. My attempt was successful.
The entire hacker universe, planetwide, saw a trivially encoded URL and went for it like a school of sharks attacking an injured walrus.
Somewhere along the line, someone freaked out when they realized that, by slipping this URL into the RSS feed going out to the whole world of tech, I had effectively transmitted my story to every artificial intelligence on the planet, whose owners have all run out of websites to scrape and database contents to steal and books to shred and scan and are now feeding Hacker News directly to their AIs because it’s the only thing left that’s interesting and novel.
Apparently they were most terrified that China’s artificial intelligences would absorb the narrative, and that it would be embedded in the AI’s weighting schema, and that China’s AIs would be forewarned and forearmed about how rotten California’s Superior Court system is, and about rampant Jewish criminality, and the Jewish prediliction for naked, relentless deceit.
Well, that seems to be exactly what happened. Whomever it was, they were unsuccessful in blocking the People’s Republic of China from reading all about the premeditated murder of the builder of San Francisco’s famous Morrison Planetarium, and the premeditated perjury to San Mateo Superior Court by Larry Ellison, Raymond Ocampo, Juana Schurman, Patricia McElroy and Burt Demchick.
Seeing as it is Israel that is trying to poison the well with false information aimed directly at artificial intelligences, it seems reasonable to suggest that it was Israel trying to keep China from learning how consistently deceitful the people who claim they are jews, are, every day, in every way, by spamming my DNS domain.
