I submit that (((Mr. Rubin))) is dispensing goyslop. Even if US troops pulled off an Iwo Jima seizure of the island, they will be subjected to relentless heavy artillery fire from nearby mountain entrenched Iranian military units. Where is the base structure for such an operation? Would the Saudis allow use of their territory for it? There are other chokepoints right at the strait as well.
