McDonald’s beat Bloomberg Consensus estimates on both earnings and revenue for the second quarter, but that’s not the most interesting part. What’s more intriguing is that executives admitted breakfast has become the chain’s weakest-performing daypart, signaling a troubling shift in low-income customer behavior.
JPMorgan analyst John Ivankoe asked CFO Ian Borden about the “weakness” in the lower-income consumer base and how this may be a “leading indicator for the US.”
Borden responded by saying: “With the low-income consumer, despite improvements in wage gains, real incomes are down. So real incomes are down with the low-income consumer. That absolutely is going to put pressure on visits into the QSR industry.”
More interesting, Borden explained how the situation of “unease with low-income consumers” has resulted in these customers “skipping a daypart like breakfast, or they’re trading down either within our menu, or they’re trading down to eating at home.”
You know the economy really sucks when the goyim can’t even afford the goy slop anymore.
It’s cheaper to eat at home & possibly healthier too for everyone in the household.
What a vile conversation, let’s hope these poor idiots “trade down” to egg on toast and a banana at home like normal people
One would hope but if they’re far enough gone to actually eat at McDonald’s they’re more likely to replace their egg mcmuffin with even worse goy slop like factory made sandwiches, poptarts, processed cheese, margarine and coco puffs. Washed down with a gut biome nuking Pepsi or Cola.
Being working class myself I feel like a small minority in actually eating real food. Co-workers almost all bring ready made meals or fast food takeout for lunch. For drink almost all of them always have Pepsi Max (some regular Pepsi.) It kinda feels like some kind of cult when these poor deceived and lost souls all sit around the tables with their bottles and cans of dark brown liquid poison. Which is what it is, a materialist corporate-pagan globo-homo cult spanning across the West all a lot of the rest as well.
