I follow Jeff, even used to subscribe, but crypto was too complicated for me at the time. I’m back keeping tabs on him these days however, along with Jim Willie. The problem with crypto is that it seems DARPA and/or the CIA were involved in the development of the tech. That’s always a red flag. There have also been several thefts of crypto from traders, I can remember one such assault on Coinbase a while back. Crypto mining is also possible which leads me to believe that your crypto is not secure.
The latest move to launch Libra by Amazon fell flat, but it isn’t dead. I understand that there was attempt to write it into the bailout legislation but that was blocked as well, for the time being. While current crypto exchanges are open, meaning that anyone who wants to can buy and sell it, the Libra plan is designed to be a closed operation, meaning that anyone who wants to deal in it must get permission from some board before they can: buy, sell, or even USE their crypto.

For a long time I bought into the population reduction hype, but there’s lots of space and there are ways to feed the planet that don’t involve draining/polluting resources and slaughtering all wildlife. We have very little access to natural ways of healing and sustainable materials despite what the current puppetmasters tell us. Plants like hemp and bamboo are gold mines but their production has been stymied for ages here in the US. A more bio-friendly world is possible but we would need to sacrifice a lot of our tech toys which require rare-earth metals and many carcinogenic elements to function and we need to end plastics, soy products, detergents and other items that we’ve come to rely on. First and second tier countries will not accept these sacrifices and even the 3rd world countries have extensive cell phone use.
True population control can begin with a 2 child limit per family and that is something worth considering especially in light of welfare obligations, but many more changes need to implemented as well. We are gluttons for far too much and our apetites need to be curbed. The problem always is: who gets to decide what goes and what stays? Birth rates in Africa are excessive. I happen to agree that African population explosion is an existential threat to Europe. The solution being planned, a die off is however evil. Prince Phillip is the least of my worries. The guy is 98 years old. He probably has very little to do with the WWF at his age. The fact of the matter is none of this matters whatsoever. Sure in the short term it might get unbalanced but systems have a way of balancing themselves out and population is no different. Obviously it’s a complex issue but if the planet and humanity can support 100 billion we will. It will not with current ideology and leadership, for sure, but there are so many resources and land and wildlife and such it’s insane. I worked in the oil and gas industry for years and there is absolutely no shortage of the stuff. Some even suspect it continues to be produced in the earth’s crust. Not to mention if we continue developing (which is questionable) we could innovate new solutions to resource and social issues. Bottom line: we don’t have a population problem we have a People problem. Greed, ignorance, selfishness, narcissism, hatred, and on and on.
There are multiple scenarios that will take care of this issue. First off, don’t discount a major catastrophe. Solar flare, comet or large asteroid, super volcano, etc. These aren’t hypotheticals and have happened rather recently. Just taking out the power grid in developed countries would kill off 80% of the population within a couple years if not sooner. Great reset you bet. Just 10000 years ago, the Younger Dryas event killed off most everyone and really did kill off 60% of the megafauna species. We just barely made it and there’s pretty good evidence there was a prosperous and sophisticated society on the other side of that. Maybe they were even having population control discussions.
The other way in which this resolves itself is darwinian selection. We’re not breeding for survival anymore and it shows in how dumb we’ve become as humans, and in how narcissistic and non religious we are and in general how maladapted we are genetically. This will kill off a majority of people naturally and the cycle will repeat. Stupid people taking selfies won’t be able to run the high tech “future” we’ve inherited. We’re seeing this now in the US big time. Hell, we just had a trial run in which “normal” people are so stupid as to think a untested gene therapy treatment would protect them from what amounted to less than a cold.
