2.5 million Slavic whites between 1450 and 1700? This figure is hard to even imagine when we think of population during this period. Yet, I am not doubting the number, it is just hard to grasp.

Was over about 12 generations, so roughly 200,000 per generation. Easier to visualize as a multi generational harvesting operation. A large swath of territory targeted from Poland to the Caucasus.

These were large scale armed military operations. 10,000 captured slaves in an annual raid was typical, sometimes much more.
Since this was done over generations, one may wonder why allegiances and even mercenaries were not employed as additional protection from the slavers.
By the way, it was a good show.
Certainly (as a listener), I did not discern any issues with sound quality due to the technical issues mentioned at the start of the show.
The podcast seemed to be clear and audible, maybe different than when I have heard it during other weeks, but certainly not bad or anything.
Good podcast, again examples how history got suppressed or rewritten. I did not learn much about slavery in europe in school, if at all the US example is/was used(sure without mentioning of Jewish involvement, or being the main slavers); but we had 33-45 every year to show us we are guilty, condition and programm us as school kids.
